Database Engineer

The Database Engineer is responsible for SQL and PostgreSQL databases and servers, including the development and implementation of all tasks associated with availability, data integrity, optimization, backup, restore and security. The Database Engineer position provides top tier support and is instrumental in delivering database and server innovation, optimization, monitoring, analysis and disaster recovery.

Description

  • Administer a variety of database systems including Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL and other Database Management Systems (DBMS)
  • Develop and enforce database administration, user standards and procedures

The Systems Administrator is responsible for the configuration, management and maintenance of the systems and servers supporting proprietary applications. The Systems Administrator delivers Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support, providing quality and responsive customer service to internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide internal and external customer support
  • Perform system backup and restore procedures
  • Server hardware setup and software configurations
  • Implementing server installations, configurations, upgrades and security
  • Implementing data security policies
  • Database performance monitoring
  • Server performance monitoring
  • Perform application releases
  • HL7 Integrations and Interfaces
  • Periodic night and weekend tasks with 24/7 emergency support
