Meet the Nuesoft Staff

Shahram FamorzadehMeet Shahram Famorzadeh, Nuesoft’s chief technical officer, a self-confessed loud-talking, tea-drinking soccer fan.

Can you explain your role as CTO at Nuesoft?
I supervise everything that has to do with technology, from the development of the application to maintenance of our data centers.

From a technical perspective, what makes Nuesoft unique?
We’re not afraid of new technology – we incorporate the latest innovations into our technology framework, and we have an experienced technical team that has a good understanding of the health care industry as well as of Nuesoft Xpress.

Can you give us a sneak preview of what is in development ?

Well, we're working on a lot of major enhancements that will make a big difference to Nuesoft Xpress users. The next year will see some significant improvements to the Nuesoft Xpress EMR, in particular.

You’ve been with Nuesoft since the beginning. How have things changed since then?
The size of the company has changed but the company culture hasn’t really changed at all – we still try to keep the values and innovation of a small company, even though we have over 50 employees. I certainly have more help now than I did at the start when we were working out of one room!

What gadget or piece of technology can’t you live without?
My cell phone – I text quite a bit. When SMS (short messaging service) first became available, I thought I’d never use it. But the applications of text messages are numerous and now I send hundreds per month!

Do you have any low-tech hobbies?
Yes, playing soccer. I am also the manager and coach for a local soccer team, Nuesoft F.C. (Football Club). We sponsor the team, which is why they're named after us!

Which sports teams do you support?
A couple of soccer teams – Arsenal, an English team, and the Atlanta Silverbacks. I also like college football and follow Georgia Tech and the University of Tennessee.

Any predictions for next season?
I just hope Georgia Tech will beat the University of Georgia this weekend!

What’s your favorite meal?
I love Persian food. Kabobs, that kind of thing. And I drink a lot of tea.

Do you have any bad habits when you’re in the office?
I’m well known for talking too loudly! [Ed: Shahram’s projection is so magnificent, he can easily be heard through a closed door or on the next floor!]
